The IWRM Data Portal presents global data on the status of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) implementation, based on national reports for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicator 6.5.1. As one of the 11 indicators measuring progress towards SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG indicator 6.5.1 measures the degree of implementation of IWRM in countries. National reporting on the indicator is undertaken by UN Member States roughly every 3 years and the consolidated survey report is submitted to the United Nations Environment Programme – the UN custodian agency for this indicator.  

Through the IWRM Data Portal, users can view the data via an interactive map or download over 190 national reports on SDG 6.5.1 from the reporting rounds successfully completed in 2017,  2020 and 2023. In addition to global and regional analysis reports, the portal includes specific pages for each country, where full submission data and summaries can be downloaded. Moreover, the portal provides all supporting information for national Focal Points for SDG indicator 6.5.1 to submit periodic reports, including information about SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme and official reporting materials for the 2023 reporting round.
